In France, 95% of people with autism are unemployed. For the most part, French companies are missing out on talent because they fail to meet these individuals’ needs.
But it doesn’t have to be this way. Inspired by her own negative experience at an internship, Mara Staub founded Autypik to help companies better accommodate the needs of the neurodivergent during hiring and onboarding. For instance, Autypik provides sensitivity training to these companies, as well as a list of job profiles of various neurodivergent candidates.
When Autypik started with us at <a href="https://tinkso.com/">Tinkso</a>, they were handling everything manually. That meant every time someone wanted to sign on, they needed to complete a series of tedious forms.
That’s why they turned to us. Autypik knew that they needed several automations to get their work done faster. With our expertise in no-code and experience building other hiring platforms, we were the perfect choice to build Autypik's new job board.
The main challenges of this project were the need to iterate quickly and deliver timely solutions.
Autypik had a deadline. We started in mid-April 2024, and they wanted to have a working prototype by 1 June. They intended to showcase the prototype at Facettes, a festival dedicated to young people’s mental health.
So, we got to work quickly. We needed to create functionality both for job hunters and for companies looking to hire.
As we mentioned earlier, Autypik’s original onboarding process was tedious and required a lot of manual inputs from their team.
Here’s how we simplified the process.
Firstly, we created a signup flow requiring an email and a password. From there, the user arrives at a dashboard where they can select their profile and set all of their preferences. For instance, they can set preferences regarding their sensory, cognitive, and social profiles. Of course, they can also share information about work experience, skills, and more.
A separate section of the dashboard enables them to view offers from companies. For now, users navigate to Notion to view more details about each company in-depth. It reflects our flexible attitude towards design. In Autypik’s case, we only added must-have features at first. Later, we can go back and round out the platform with more detailed features.
For their part, the hiring companies need to manage job offers on their own dashboard. There, they can view applications and further details about each applicant in their own section. With a Xano integration, we’re able to record all the information about companies and users in a CRUD database. Autypik can also edit the database in the back-end.
We finished a functional prototype before the June deadline. As a result, the Autypik team got to present their new platform at the Facettes festival, allowing their target audience a chance to try the onboarding features.
At the festival, users marveled at how easy it was to complete their profile compared to before. In fact, they wondered how they could ever have done it any other way. According to Autypik Chief Product Officer Clémence Gueidan, Autypik is the only platform of its kind. Not just in France, but in the whole world.
Around mid-June, Autypik launched the MVP version of the platform and will gather feedback from users over the coming months. The time savings from building with us at Tinkso allowed them to spend more time on strategy as well as improving their training services.
Autypik now has an engine to help them scale their business and make an even larger impact on the neurodivergent community in France. We’re excited to see what the future holds!
